Pakistan are up against New Zealand in the opening game of Champions Trophy 2025, and the home team has been put under pressure by the Kiwis with a good batting display in the first half. The Kiwis posted 320 on the board and in reply, Pakistan have lost an early wicket as well.

Rizwan Loses His Cool Before His Failure Against New Zealand

The Pakistan skipper, Mohammad Rizwan walked out to bat at number 3 with Fakhar Zaman only allowed to bat at 4 or below because of his absence on the field in the first half. Rizwan had a big responsibility to take his team forward, but the Karachi ground management did not help his cause as the skipper got irritated due to sightscreen issue.

There has been constant complaint of movement near the sightscreen in the match and Rizwan finally lashed out on the final ball of the sixth over. It was a good-length delivery, way outside off and Mohammad Rizwan decided to leave it. However as soon as he left the ball, he started making animated gestures towards the sightscreen and also had some unpleasant words for the pople incharge of the situation.

Mohammad Rizwan recently smashed a stuning century in a record run-chase at National Stadium in Karachi, but could not get going in the Champions Trophy opener and managed to score just 3 off 14 balls. Babar Azam is still at the crease and he has Fakhar Zaman to partner him and the duo would have to bat deep to take Pakistan over the line.
