[Watch] Rizwan, Shadab Left In ‘Complete Shock’ After Shaheen Afridi Blunder

Pakistan’s fielding has often become the talk of the town, although not in a positive way. Similarly, on Monday, it made headlines when the Men in Green were up against Afghanistan in Match 22 of the World Cup 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

It all happened when Shadab Khan bowled a half-tracker during the 16th over of Afghanistan's innings. Rahmanullah Gurbaz went on back foot, and pulled it through wide long-on in an attempt for a boundary.

However, the ball was not too wide from Shaheen Afridi, who was placed at long on. The left-arm quick, to leave everyone in splits, did a schoolboy error. He overran it while trying to stop the ball, and in the process, failed to keep it away from the boundary line before falling hilariously over the ropes.

Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan could not believe what just happened on the field, as Shaheen slowly began to stand up in order to return to his actual fielding position.

This was not the only time Pakistan made a mistake on the field. Even Babar Azam made a sloppy mistake to gift a few extra runs to Afghanistan, who were chasing 283 against their continent rivals.
