Mohamamd Rizwan is one of the most consistent batters in Pakistan cricket, but apart from a fifty against Dolphins, he has not been able to make much of an impact in the Champions One-Day Cup. There were expectations that he would deliver in the big Qualifier 1 against Panthers, but he has let down his fans big time and has departed for a golden duck.

Rizwan came out to bat with his team in all sorts of trouble at 10-2, and they needed Rizwan to soak the pressure and score big. However, against a red-hot Mohammad  Hasnain, he decided to go for a flashy drive on the very first ball. It was a full delivery, outside off and Rizwan threw his bat at it. He only managed an outside edge though and the keeper Usman Khan took an easy catch.

It was a big, big wicket for Panthers and Markhors have been put under the pump early in the Qualifier 1 after dominating most of the tournament. Before Rizwan, Hasnain also got the big wicket of Kamran Ghulam, the man in form. Hasebullah, the wicketkeeper batter earlier departed in the second over, when Ali Raza found the outside edge of his blade in the second over.

Marakhors and Panthers both won three out of their four matches in the tournament so far, and it has been a productive compeition for Pakistan cricket with plenty of youngsters stepping up. However, Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi have not exactly performed to their billing which has been bit disappointing for Pakistan fans who have flocked the stadium to watch their superstars. 

Pakistan cricket is currently going through a turmoil, with some big losses in recent times, and with change in guard in captaincy also expected, Rizwan's performance as skipper has been highly appreciated and would be put to test agains in this Qualifier 1 after early jitters with the bat.
