In the ongoing third and final ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium, India are in deep trouble as they have lost eight wickets for less than 100 runs while chasing 249. 

The wickets tumbled like dominos, and debutant Riyan Parag had the chance to become the hero but failed to seize the opportunity as he returned to the pavilion with a score of 15 (13), which featured two fours. 

Notably, Parag impressed with the ball as he took a three-wicket haul but had a brain-fade moment with the bat as he left the ball anticipating it to turn away from the stumps but lost his wicket. 

On the last ball of the 16th over, Parag fell prey to Jeffrey Vandersay, who bowled a lovely arm ball that rattled Parag's stump.

At the time of writing this article, India are 137/8. India have been underwhelming in this series as they tied the first game and lost the second one. A defeat in the third game would mean that Sri Lanka beat India after 27 years in a bilateral series.
