In the final ODI against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium, India's batting maestro Virat Kohli once again struggled to make a significant impact in the series.

Kohli, who has been out of form, departed after scoring 20 runs off 18 balls, falling for an LBW dismissal for the third consecutive time in the series. This time, it was Dunith Wellalage who claimed his wicket.

During the 11th over of India's innings, Wellalage bowled a flighted delivery on the middle stump from around the wicket. The ball did not spin and instead went straight on with the arm.

This brilliant variation from Dunith Wellalage caught Kohli off guard as he lunged forward to block it but failed to read the delivery.

Playing outside its line, Kohli was beaten on the inside edge and was struck dead in front of the stumps on his front pad.

Kohli had a brief discussion with Shreyas Iyer before opting for a review. However, the review showed no involvement of the bat and confirmed three reds, leading to Kohli's dismissal and the loss of India's review.

Sri Lanka posted a total of 249 after winning the toss and opting to bat. At the time of writing, India are at 96 for 6 in 15 overs, facing a daunting task to chase down the target.
