What a comprehensive win for Sri Lanka and they have won the series in great style,. 2-0 is the final scoreline in the favour of the home team and this is a big breakthrough for the side who has not even qualified for the Champions Trophy 2025.

Talking about this match, it all started with Sri Lanka electing to bat first after winning the toss. The opening stand of 89 set the platform for the home side and though India came back in the middle overs, Sri Lanka managed to get to good score of 248 on a tough track. Avishka Fernando scored 96 while for India, Riyan Parag picked a three-wicket haul.

In reply, Rohit Sharma started off with a bang, but rest of the batters struggled and once the Indian captain departed on 35 off 20 balls, things felt apart pretty quickly. Sri Lankan spinners proved too hot to handle again and Dunith Wellalage was the pick of the bowlers with a five-wicket haul. Sundar was the only one who showed some fight, but this series is surely a big eye-opener for the Men in Blue and the new head coach Gautam Gambhir has to find answers quickly.
