India are playing against Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I of the three match series at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy. 

The Sri Lankan team have put themselves in a strong position with their disciplined bowling after winning the toss and opting to field first in the game. Maheesh Theekshana and Chamindu Wickramasinghe picked up three wickets in the first 19 deliveries and put India on the back-foot. India were reeling at 14/3 and were looking down the barrel. 

After this India were hoping that players like Rinku Singh and Suryakumar Yadav will bail the team out of the hole. However, this did not happen as India lost two more wickets in the next five overs and were left struggling at 48/5. 

Riyan Parag hits two huge sixes

This is when Shubman Gill and Riyan Parag came together. They stitched a partnership of 54 runs off 40 deliveries and stabilised the Indian innings. 

In the 14th over of the innings, Riyan Parag decided to step on the pedal and start a counter attack for India. The young Indian batter slaughtered Wanindu Hasaranga for two huge maximums and induced much needed momentum to the Indian innings. 

However, both Parag and Gill fell soon after this. The presence of the two batters might have taken India to a formidable total, however, with both of them being dismissed the team might end up 15-20 runs short in the total.
