Rishabh Pant made fans nostalgic on Sunday (March 31) while captaining Delhi Capitals in Match 13 of the IPL 2024 against Chennai Super Kings in Vizag. The 26-year-old played a one-handed flick, something he used to play every other day, before sustaining a horrible injury, that went for a huge six.

After opting to bat first, Pant led by example, and smashed a cracking half-century, his first of the season. Mustafizur Rahman, who made a significant impact in the IPL 2024 opener against RCB, was at the receiving end when he bowled a full delivery onto middle and leg stumps against the DC skipper.

It was during the 18th over of DC’s innings, and Pant showed no mercy at all. The way he flicked it with one hand was so pleasing to the eyes, and the ball landed right among the fans of CSK, who were almost in every corner of the stadium.

At the time of writing this, CSK are on the back foot, having slipped to 8/2 after 3.3 overs. Both openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra have returned to pavilion after they came to chase 192-run target.
