Shikhar Dhawan has shared an emotional message for his nine-year-old son Zoravar. A day prior to Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Mumbai Indians (MI), the seasoned opening batter took to Instagram and unveiled his customised team jersey inscribed with the name of his son.

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan shared a couple of pictures of his latest customised jersey, which is inscribed with the name of his nine-year-old son Zoravar.

Taking to Instagram on April 17, the cricketer also wrote “You’re Always with Me, My Boy” in the caption.

Back in late 2012, Shikhar Dhawan married Ayesha Mukherjee. However, both were separated from their marriage after he was granted a divorce by a Delhi court in October 2023, citing mental cruelty as grounds.

A few months ago, Shikhar Dhawan opened up about the challenges he has been facing just to catch up with his son, who is currently living with his mother Ayesha Mukherjee in Australia.

As it turned out, Dhawan’s emotional post instantly went viral across all social media platforms, with several fans and followers expressing their sympathies for the cricketer.

On the cricketing front, Shikhar Dhawan is currently leading the Punjab Kings franchise in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. He recently sustained a shoulder injury which prompted him to miss out on Punjab Kings’ home game against table-toppers Rajasthan Royals.

Punjab Kings will now face Mumbai Indians in match number 33 of the tournament on April 18. The much-awaited contest will be staged at Mullanpur.
