Rishabh Pant just sent the crowd at Sydney Cricket Ground into a frenzy with his mind-blowing maximum in the ongoing Test match between India and Australia. The fifth Test match, crucial from India's perspective, requires the visitors to play good cricket to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).

However, it is evident that on a challenging occasion like this, Australia will be on its best of best behaviours and give it 120%, especially when a win in this Test can make the Pat Cummins-led side the winners of BGT.

More than a glimpse of the 'Aussie hunger' was visible during Day 1 as Rishabh Pant became a victim of some nasty blows by Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland. Nevertheless, that did not deter his spirit and focus as he went on to slam Beau Webster with a six for the ages.

Rishabh Pant's Huge Six Off Webster

In the 46th over, Webster bowled a full-length delivery around the off region. Coming in at 125 kmph speed, a gutsy Rishabh Pant broke his shackles and stepped down the track, welcoming the attack with a slug. Known for his 'one-of-its-kind' shot selections, Pant came out of his bunker and gave himself some room as he freed his arms and launched the ball high and over the bowler's head for a maximum.

The ball soared so high that it went beyond the sight screen and went missing for a few minutes. The ground staff had to bring out a ladder to find the ball. The mighty 99m long hit from Pant was a perfect example of counter-attacking—Aussie fans celebrated by jumping in happiness as the staff retrieved the ball.

India Lose Kohli, Gill, KL, Jaiswal Aussies Unleash Hell

India faced a challenging afternoon session after a tough start in the morning. Virat Kohli was dismissed by Scott Boland, poking a delivery to third slip. However, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja steadied the innings, surviving tough periods and playing cautiously on a difficult surface. Jadeja benefited from a few dropped chances, while Pant took some body blows but remained resilient.

Pant started to break free towards the end of the session, with both left-handers slowly building a crucial partnership. By the end of the session, India were 107/4 in 50 overs, with Pant on 32* and Jadeja on 11*.
