[Watch] Ravindra Jadeja ‘Robbed’ Due To DRS Unavailability As David Miller Escapes

DRS technology was temporarily unavailable during India’s third and final T20I of the series on Thursday (December 14) at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. In the meantime, what happened sparked a lot of attention as well as controversy.

Chasing a massive 202, South Africa lost three wickets inside the Powerplay, managing to put up 42 on the board. Two of the big fishes—Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen—were back in the hut. Yet, David Miller, one of South Africa’s most destructive batters, particularly against India, was still there.

India required Miller’s wicket to seal the deal, and Ravindra Jadeja, who was the stand-in captain after Suryakumar Yadav’s little absence, came to bowl the seventh over. There, he got Markram’s wicket on the first ball and had Miller in his pocket in the following over.

However, the on-field umpire, despite a clear cut edge outside the off stump, did not raise his finger. Ishan Kishan made no mistake to take that one and immediately appealed for being caught behind. Then, the on-field umpire reminded every Indian that the DRS’s assistance is temporarily unavailable.

While, as of writing, South Africa have lost seven wickets for 90 after 12.1 overs, Miller is still in the middle, batting on 32* off 20 balls.
