Satheesh Shubha stunned everyone with her exceptional display of batting on her Test debut in the only Test match against England. She scripted history registering her name among Indian women with her second-fastest half-century which came off in just 49 deliveries.

The Karnataka-born, Shubha has been in the news for a while now, as she scored 99 and 49 in the intra-squad Test match, which was certainly a trial match to select the players for the Test matches against England and Australia. She was recently picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 10 lakhs and will be featuring in the WPL season 2 in RCB colours.

In the ongoing one-off Test, the southpaw Shubha had to walk in early in the middle as India lost Smriti Mandhana in the sixth over and Shafali Verma in the ninth over. The debutant was joined by another debutant but an experienced one, Jemimah Rodrigues.

Jemi and Shubha stitched a healthy partnership and both of them reached their half-centuries, but Shubha was the aggressor as she took just 49 balls to get there and now she is second on the list of fastest centuries by Indian women.

With the match having a duration of just four days, Shubha knew that she couldn't play slow to get a result out of the game, and thus kept on attacking. She went on to score 69 off 76 deliveries including 13 boundaries and was quite upset about not being able to convert it into a hundred.

The Indian women's team is standing tall and have already put 410 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets and will look to play more aggressively tomorrow morning.
