[Watch] Rahul Dravid ‘Furious’ As Shubman Gill Throws Away Wicket By Not Taking DRS

Shubman Gill’s poor run of form in the T20Is continued on Thursday (December 14) in India’s third and final T20I of the series, taking place at the New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. The swashbuckling batsman started brilliantly, smashing two fours in the opening over, but failed to carry on the momentum.

However, he would not have lost his wicket for a paltry six-ball 12 had he taken a DRS against an LBW decision, which helped Keshav Maharaj to enjoy his success.

It was the second ball of the third over that got Gill’s wicket via LBW. The opening batsman did not even think to challenge the decision, possibly assuming it would be too early in the innings. However, the replay on the big screen showed a few minutes later that he would have survived if he had taken that, as the ball would have missed the stumps if it had not hit his pads.

India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, did not like what Gill did, particularly after watching the replay. Dravid in general doesn’t show his emotions, but in this case, he did with a gesture with his hand, which suggested, ‘what was that?’

However, the Men in Blue recovered their innings beautifully, having raced to 69/2 after 7.3 overs, with Suryakumar Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the middle, on 20* and 34* respectively.
