India’s speed maverick Jasprit Bumrah ‘bowled’ his side to an emphatic win over Pakistan in their high-profile World Cup 2023 showdown at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The cricketer, who made his return to the national side just a month ago following an injury, deceived a well-set Mohammad Rizwan with a slower-one and castled Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan with a scorching outswinger.

For his twin bursts against the run-of-play, Bumrah was fittingly adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’, thus sustaining his triumphant return to the national side after missing out on a year worth of competitive cricket.

Aaron Finch praised Bumrah with hilarious advice for others

Former Australian captain Aaron Finch was full of praise for Jasprit Bumrah prior to India’s World Cup 2023 clash against Pakistan. While speaking on ESPNCricinfo, the cricketer-turned-commentator claimed that it is very difficult for batters to track Bumrah because of his bowling action, and added that the speedster has the knack of getting big wickets on a consistent basis.

"With a guy whose arms are everywhere, it can be really difficult to try and track that. He is somebody who is amazing. He gets the best players in the world out consistently," he said.

When asked if there was any way to counter Bumrah, Aaron Finch came up with a cheeky response. The former Australian cricketer jokingly stated:

"Retire, like I did."

Jasprit Bumrah will now turn up for India in their subsequent World Cup 2023 challenge against Bangladesh. Their much-awaited standoff is slated to be played out at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on October 19.
