On Sunday, Rahmanullah Gurbaz has come out at the crease on a positive note, hitting the English bowlers all across the park hitting a half-century at a strike rate close to 150. Thanks to Gurbaz's efforts, Afghanistan have got to a flying start, smoking 100 runs inside 13 overs.

The 21-year-old KKR opener slammed his first fifty in the World Cup against the reigning champions on a flat track presented at Delhi. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Zadran - who is an equally good batter - is playing the second fiddle to Gurbaz.

The right-handed stroke player swept the wily leggie ferociously to deep square leg to complete his maiden WC half-century off 33 balls. Meanwhile, he spared no English bowler during his brutal assault, hitting seven boundaries and four biggies in his ongoing knock.

Earlier in the afternoon, English skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and asked the Afghan side to bat first on a track that is behaving as a paradise for the batters. However, the pitch in Delhi was been a belter for the batting side as seen in the games between South Africa & Sri Lanka and India and Afghanistan.

At the time of writing, the Afghan batters are going solidly with the scoreboard reading 102/0 after 13 overs. Gurbaz is batting at 67*, whereas Zadran is playing at 24*.
