Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) number 3 batter's pain-struck innings came to an end as he was removed after a 30-ball 35 by Jaydev Unadkat. With Rahane in the middle, his dismissal came as blessing-in-disguise as the CSK's innings wasn't going anywhere.

With Shivam Dube doing the heavy-lifting, Rahane put undue pressure on Chennai's spin-basher, who was eventually dismissed on 45.
