Delhi Capitals Women jolted UP Warriorz with three quick powerplay wickets in their recent WPL 2024 faceoff in Bengaluru. Overseas star Marizanne Kapp accounted for each of Warriorz’ three early dismissals before finishing her four-over spell with figures of 3-5.

Emboldened by Kapp’s sublime new-ball gambit, left-arm spinner Radha Yadav struck twice early in her spell as Warriorz slumped to 57-5 by the end of their first 12 overs.

After deceiving Grace Harris with some sharp turn, Yadav was launched out of the ground for a huge six by Kiran Navgire only for the star spinner to extract her revenge off the very next delivery.

Indian leg-spinner Radha Yadav was employed by her Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning to bowl the tenth over of the UP Warriorz innings. The cricketer made instant impact with the ball by accounting for the key wicket of a well-set Grace Harris.

In Yadav’s following over, she was taken apart by UP Warriorz middle-order batter Kiran Navgire, who danced down the track to crash a huge six over wide long on.

Seemingly unfazed by the monster hit, Radha Yadav had the last laugh as she extracted her revenge off the very next delivery by getting rid of Navgire. The overambitious UP Warriorz batter, in her attempt of playing a similar stroke, ended up slicing the ball up in the air only to be caught-and-bowled by her Capitals’ spin rival.

Radha Yadav claimed two more wickets in her spell, both during the slog overs as UP Warriorz concluded their innings at 119-9.

Shweta Sehrawat punched out 45 of those runs from just 42 balls, while none of the other batters managed to outscore Grace Harris’ mere 17-run effort.
