Cummins was cleaned up by Rabada [AP]
Sunrisers Hyderabad's captain Pat Cummins registered a failure with the bat, as ace South African spearhead Kagiso Rabada castled him in the ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Punjab Kings.
The incident occurred in the 18th over of Hyderabad's innings when the visitors were struggling to get a fitting finish.
After conceding only two runs off his first two balls, Rabada bowled a regular length ball, as Cummins went for a wild slog over the leg side.
However, the Aussie skipper completely misjudged the line, with the ball sneaking through the bat-pad gap to hit the timber.
Cummins, who generally scores quick-fire cameos down the order, couldn't contribute significantly this time, being dismissed for three runs.
Regarding the game, Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan's decision to bowl first proved to be a masterstroke, as their bowling department reduced SRH to 39 for three within no time.
However, young batter Nitish Kumar Reddy stepped up for the visitors, hammering four boundaries and five sixes for his blistering 37-ball 64.
Among others, Abdul Samad scored 25 runs off 12 deliveries, while Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma contributed 21 and 16 runs, respectively.
Riding on their valuable knocks, SRH posted a respectable 182-run total on the board for the loss of nine wickets.
