India's premier opener, KL Rahul, has had a torrid run in the ongoing Indian Premier League season, managing 126 runs in four outings. 

The stylish Karnataka batter kickstarted the tournament with a fighting half-century against Rajasthan Royals, but things haven't been the same for him since then. 

While Rahul has received much flak for his sub-par strike rate, Lucknow Super Giants' head coach Justin Langer has indirectly shown his interest in having veteran batter Rohit Sharma in the team. 

In a video doing rounds on social media, Langer can be seen having a casual conversation with a member of LSG's social media team. 

The presenter gives him a hypothetical situation, asking him to pick a player he wants to purchase in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Later, he asks the Aussie stalwart how will he react if he gets Rohit Sharma on his side. 

On hearing Rohit's name, Langer seems elated, and rightly so, considering the former's stature as a swashbuckling opener. 

Although it's a casual conversation between them, the Super Giants could actually target Rohit in the mega auction if Mumbai Indians release the talismanic batter. 

It might sound weird, but given they will likely persist with Hardik Pandya as their skipper, the five-time champions could let Rohit enter the auction pool. 

And if KL Rahul's prolonged poor form leads to his exclusion from the Super Giants' squad, Langer and his strategic advisors might bid for Rohit, who can serve them both as an opener and the captain.
