The Barbados Royals and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are facing each other in the 13th match of the CPL 2024. The match is being played at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The Royals come into this game having won their first two matches of the tournament. They are hunting their third straight win to solidify their position at the top of the table.

Contrastingly, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, who initially faced a series of defeats, have shown remarkable resilience in their recent games. With two consecutive wins under their belt, they have certainly turned the tables and are now a force to be reckoned with.

With both teams carrying the momentum of their recent victories, the stakes are high in this match. Each team is vying for a win that would not only bolster their position in the top four but also serve as a testament to their growing strength and determination.

Coming back to the 13th match, the Royals won the toss and opted to field first. The Falcons depended largely on their two openers, Brandon King and Justin Greaves, to give them a good start, while the Royals were hoping for an early wicket to set themselves up in the match.

Rovman Powell let King off the hook early in the game

Maheesh Theekshana produced a moment in the third over of the match, where they could have dismissed Brandon King early. However, the skipper Rovman Powell dropped a sitter, allowing the West Indian opener a life in the match.

On the fifth delivery of the over, Theekshana bowled a full delivery at the middle and leg stump line. King cleared his front foot and lofted the ball towards long-on, trying to clear the fence with a big shot. However, the batter did not get the connection right, and the ball went straight into the laps of the Royals' skipper. But Rovman Powell failed to hold onto the catch, dropping one of the most accessible chances possible.

Brandon King could have been a dangerous customer for the Royals if he batted too long. However, much to the relief of the Royals, the West Indian opener did not hurt them too much. The CPL debutant, Keshav Maharaj, dismissed him in the seventh over of the innings.
