The Kensington Oval is all set to host an exciting clash between the Barbados Royals (BR) and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons (ABF) in Match 13 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024.

In the latest development, Barbados Royals captain Rovman Powell has won the toss and opted to field first.

It is important to mention that David Miller, Alick Athanaze, and Rivaldo Clarke, and Keshav Maharaj come in place of Nyeem Young, Kadeem Alleyne, Shamarh Brooks, and Dunith Wellalage in this match for the Barbados Royals. However, Antigua & Barbuda Falcons will play with the same XI that played in the last match.

The Royals, currently second on the points table, are in terrific form, having won both matches they have played so far. Their latest victory was a thrilling two-wicket win over the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, where they chased down 154 runs, led by an impressive bowling performance from Dunith Wellalage and significant contributions from Maheesh Theekshana and Obed McCoy.

On the other hand, the Falcons have bounced back from a rough start, as they lost their first four games but after that secured two crucial victories and have been currently placed in fourth in the points table. Their latest triumph also came against the Patriots, with Mohammad Amir leading the charge with figures of 3/27.

 BR Vs ABF: Captain's Thoughts

Rovman Powell (Barbados Royals Captain): "We are going to bowl, looks a pretty decent surface. Hopefully some runs in it. Yeah, it is not the traditional Kensington Oval, bit of turn these days. We have quite a few changes. Two South African superstars come in David Miller and Keshav Maharaj. We also bring in a young batting star Rivaldo Clarke."

Chris Green (Antigua & Barbuda Falcons Captain):"No, really looks a good surface. The groundsmen reckon it will play. I have lost tosses and this one I don't mind losing toss and want to put the runs on the board. We are playing the same side. We are playing good cricket and want to reverse the result against them and beat the Royals on their home turf."
