Phil Salt was a wild-card entry in the KKR squad after Jason Roy pulled out just before the IPL and he has stepped up for his side in the very first game by scoring an important fifty under pressure. However, just when he was looking to unleash at the backend, a brilliant catch by Marco Jansen ended his valiant knock.

It was the 5th delivery of the 14th over and Markande bowled it touch short on middle. Salt quickly rocked back and pulled it quite well. However, he did not get the middle of his blade and Jansen came running from deep mid-wicket and took a stunning sliding catch to put KKR in deep hole.

It was Pat Cummins who won the toss earlier and decided to bowl first and he would be happy with how his bowlers have delivered on a flat deck at Eden. KKR were reduced to 51-4 in the 8th over with a wicket of Nitish Rana but Ramandeep played a handy cameo of 35 and Salt's wicket was the sixth one of KKR with score at 119 in the 14th over.
