The IPL 2024 is up and running and in the third game of the season, Kolkata Knight Riders are up against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the iconic Eden Gardens. 

Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first and Salt started off with a bang, smashing Marco Jansen for three consecutive sixes in the second over. However, in the same over, Narine who was Salt's opening partner fell prey to a direct hit from Shahbaz Ahmed after a big mix-up.

It was a shortish delivery on off from Marco Jansen. Salt dabbed it off the outside off of his blade towards backward point and Narine at the other end thought that he can steal a single. Salt too, took some steps forward and then decided to stop. 

However, Narine was already halfway down the track till then and did not bother to go back, as he left it to his fate, with a hope that Shahbaz Ahmed will not fire a direct hit.

However, Shahbaz got it spot on and hit the timber as Narine was way short of his crease. KKR lost two quick wickets after that and from 23-0, KKR were reduced to 32-3 in no time.
