Manchester Originals captain, Phil Salt failed to deliver the goods in the ongoing The Hundred contest Vs the Southern Brave.

A lot was expected of Salt as he is the leader of the pact, but the dashing opening batter failed against the sheer pace of opposition bowler, Craig Overton.

Overton beats Salt with sheer pace

Salt struggled for runs as the Brave bowlers didn't allow him to free his arms, which frustrated the top-order batter. Out of pure anger, Salt targeted Overton's length ball and miscued it badly. Overton, deceived the Manchester batter with his pace as his length delivery skied up and went million miles in the air.

Kieron Pollard, one of the safest fielders, was stationed at mid-wicket as he kept his eyes on the ball and took the simplest of catches. 

His struggles continued as the aggressive opener failed to deliver once again, having previously being out for a couple of low-scores.

Talking about the match, Originals lost a couple of early wickets, but it was Max Holden who steadied the ship. Alongside Jamie Overton, he put the pressure back on the Brave bowlers as the Manchester side posted 116/6, which was chased down with relative ease.
