England's prominent young batter Ollie Pope exhibited his unorthodox batting skills as he played an excellent reverse-scoop off Matt Henry's bowling in London Spirit's recently concluded match against Welsh Fire at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

His audacious shot reminded fans of legendary South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter AB de Villiers, who used to hit all around the park.

The incident happened during the fourth set of London's innings when Pope was trying to steady the ship alongside keeper-batter Adam Rossington following Michael-Kyle Pepper's early dismissal.

As Matt Henry came over the wicket to bowl a slightly fuller delivery around the off stump line, Pope swiftly changed his stance and went down on his back leg to reverse-scoop the Kiwi pacer for a six.

The shot was so well-timed that the ball sailed over the keeper's head for a maximum. However, Pope couldn't convert his start into a big score, with Henry dismissing him two balls later.

Despite posting a sub-par 94-run total on the board, Welsh Fire fought really hard with the ball, only to incur a three-wicket defeat in the game.

Meanwhile, this was London's first victory in the competition as they got off the mark in the points table.
