Talented Indian batter Rajat Patidar showcased his brilliance yet again as he struck a breezy knock in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's ongoing IPL 2024 eliminator against Rajasthan Royals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
However, before he could convert his start into a big knock, the stylish batter from Madhya Pradesh was dismissed by ace RR speedster Avesh Khan.
The incident occurred during the 15th over of RCB's innings when they were in a spot of bother, having lost four crucial wickets inside 13 overs.
Bringing Avesh Khan back into the attack proved to be a masterstroke by Sanju Samson, with the right-arm pacer getting the prized scalp of Patidar.
It was a short delivery around the fourth stump line from Avesh as Patidar went for a tennis shot straight down the ground. However, he couldn't time it properly, with the ball hanging up in the air for a long time.
Riyan Parag, stationed at mid off, ran backwards to claim an impressive catch, putting an end to Patidar's innings. After getting out, Patidar was disappointed as he agonisingly looked at his bat.
Meanwhile, RCB were reeling at 134 for five in 16 overs, with Dinesh Karthik batting alongside Mahipal Lomror as of writing.
