The fifth day of the second Ashes Test saw Australia hand England a 43-run defeat at the iconic Lord's cricket ground. Chasing a challenging target of 371, England were bowled out for 327, despite an incredible hundred from skipper Ben Stokes. However, an incident which grabbed more attention than the game itself was the dismissal of Jonny Bairstow, who fell prey to Alex Carey's street-smart keeping.

After ducking the final delivery of the 52nd over, Bairstow left his crease with the ball still in play. Capitalising on his lack of game awareness, Carey stumped the English keeper, leaving him shell-shocked.

Although Carey's action was completely within the laws, he received a lot of flak from the English fans, who accused him of violating the spirit of the game.

After Australia emerged victorious in the match, an English journalist took a jibe at the visiting skipper Pat Cummins, asking if the visitors would implement foul tactics like mankading and underarm bowling to get wickets in the remainder of the series.

However, Cummins hit back with a hilarious response, citing they would seriously consider underarm bowling an option if England kept producing flat pitches in the series. His brutal answer not only gave rise to laughter in the post-match press conference but also signified his ice-cool nature as a skipper.
