Shoaib Bashir, who did not bowl a single over during England’s first Test of the three-match series against the West Indies at Lord’s, struck in his third over when the two sides met again for the second Test, this time at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

The wicket came during the 15th over of the West Indies innings when Bashir, a Pakistan-origin English bowler, bowled a tossed-up delivery to Mikyle Louis, who went for a slog sweep, only to get a huge top edge. Harry Brook, placed at mid-on, ran backward and took the skier, leaving Bashir to pump his fist in the air in joy.

With that, Bashir got his maiden Test wicket on home soil, and Ben Stokes was the first man to hug him to congratulate the 20-year-old.

Earlier, Bashir was in the news when his visa was delayed while traveling to India in January for a Test series.

At the time of writing this, West Indies are 79/2 after England's 416, still trailing by 337 runs. Kirk McKenzie and Alick Athanaze are in the middle, while Gus Atkinson took the other wicket for England.
