Joe Root made little impact on Thursday (July 18) when England met the West Indies at Trent Bridge in the second Test of the three-match series. The former England captain could only muster 14 off 29 balls before he lost his wicket in a very uncharistic way.

It was the third ball of the 30th over of England’s innings when Joe Root seemed a bit nervous while playing West Indies speedster Jayden Seales. His short-of-a-length delivery made Root think twice before playing a shot, and in the process, he found a huge top edge.

Placed at mid-on, Alzarri Joseph ran back a little to complete a simple catch with a little juggle, as smiles were all around after the big wicket of Root.

Earlier, England set a world record by racing to fifty in just 4.2 overs. They, at the time of writing this, are well placed, reaching 196/3 in 38.3 overs.

Ollie Pope and Harry Brook are in the middle, batting on 75* and 32* respectively, as England are eyeing a big total yet again in an attempt to seal the series with a game to spare.
