Fakhar Zaman, the explosive Pakistan batter had yet another disappointing outing in the Champions Cup 2024. The left-handed batter struggled for runs in the first game, and was dismissed cheaply, and the same happened in the ongoing clash against Stallions.

No Fakhar Zaman show in Faisalabad

Playing for Markhors, Fakhar was cramped for room by the bowlers and it frustrated the power-packed batter, who loves width being offered. On a flat pitch, where rub-scoring was easy, the left-hander couldn't get his timing right and when batting at 20, frustration creeped in as he went for an unnecessary slog and threw his wicket away.

Jahandad Khan, the Stallions bowler saw Fakhar step down the track as he bowled a length ball and the batter miscued his attempted heave. The ball skied up and was in the air for a while as the fielder at third man kept his eyes on the ball and took a smart catch.

Fakhar struck a couple of boundaries and wanted to take on the bowler, and it led to his demise in the ongoing contest.

Rizwan holds the key for Markhors

The Markhors, led by Mohammad Rizwan brushed aside the Panthers in the opening game of the tournament. Their batters performed exceedingly well in the first match, but the same couldn't be said about the ongoing contest.

Apart from Fakhar, the team has lost two more wickets in the form of Muhammad Faizan and Kamran Ghulam, and the onus now lies on the shoulders of Rizwan, who has come at the crease. The skipper had an average outing in the first match, but with his side already down and out, Rizwan needs to stand and deliver the goods.
