The tournament was designed to give exposure to the younger Pakistan players. These youngsters will be placed alongside senior players in the same squad, and it will provide them with the exposure of the international level.

In the first match taking place in Faisalabad, Markhors' Fakhar Zaman opened the batting, and showed his class with a couple of gorgeous shots. He wasn't at his fluent best, but gave a memorable highlight from his short-stay at the crease.

During his innings of 17 from 29 balls, Fakhar smashed the first six of the tournament, and it was a treat for the eyes. The Panthers bowled delivered a length ball and it was enough for Fakhar to step down the track and smack it over the long-on fence. The ball connected from the sweet spot of the bat and it stunned the opposition bowler.

His innings was short-lived as Mubasir Khan took his valuable wicket and sent the dangerous batter back in the pavilion.

Markhors solidify their position in the game

Put into bat, Markhors started briskly with Fakhar and Muhammad Faizan giving a decent start. While Fakhar was dismissed for 17, Faizan continued the good work and played some delightful strokes.

The talented batter was dismissed for a well-compiled 34 off 37 balls. However, despite his wicket, Kamran Ghulam carried on the good work and scored a blistering hundred for his team as the team etches closer to the 300-run mark.
