Swashbuckling West Indies batter Andre Russell had a great start to his innings, hitting ace Proteas speedster Anrich Nortje for two massive sixes during the ongoing T20 World Cup clash between West Indies and South Africa. However, he couldn't bat till the end as Nortje's stunning throw ran him out in a crucial juncture of the match. 

The incident occurred during the 18th over of West Indies' innings when Russell had just started to accelerate. 

Bowling his first over of the day, Kagiso Rabada started with a good length delivery outside the off stump, with Akeal Hosein opening the bat face to steer it towards the short third man. 

The Caribbean batters sensed an opportunity for a single as they started running as soon as Hosein played the shot. However, as the ball went straight to Nortje, fielding at short third man. 

Before Andre Russell could reach the striker's end, Nortje was quick enough to pick the ball up and throw it. The ball went on to hit the stumps, finding the explosive batter short of his crease. 

Barring Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers, none of the Caribbean batters put up a fight as the rampant South African attack restricted the co-hosts to a sub-par 135-run total.
