Ellyse Perry has been the talk of the town ever since RCB’s dramatic turnaround in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. The talismanic all-rounder performed with both bat and ball and, at the same time, motivated others with pep talks like no other to take them to the elusive glory.

However, Perry failed to carry on the momentum while representing Australia during their first ODI of the three-match series at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. On Thursday, all she could muster with the bat was two runs off 10 balls before Sultana Khatun bowled an excellent delivery to send her back to the dressing room.

While facing Sultana, Perry went for a sweep during the sixth over of Australia's innings, only to find an unfortunate thick outside edge. Placed at first slip, Rabeya Khan made no mistake, and completed the catch with ease, before on-field umpire raised her finger to end her stay.

Perry was not too pleased with the manner in which she was dismissed, as she started walking back to the pavilion at a slow pace.
