[Watch] Nicholas Pooran's Mammoth Six Goes Over The Roof In Sharjah

Nicholas Pooran is renowned for his trademark downswing and towering sixes down the ground and towards the mid-wicket region. The merciless West Indies powerhitter wasn't quite in his true elements on Friday (January 26) but managed to still dispatch a pair of maximums out of the park in Sharjah.

Playing for MI Emirates in the second edition of the International League T20 in UAE against hosts Sharjah Warriors, Pooran hammered one of his sixes out of the historic ground. Facing Warriors pacer Chris Woakes' attempted yorker, Pooran got underneath the delivery and smashed it over mid-wicket.

As he has done to various bowlers over the years, Pooran clobbered the full pitcher from the meaty part of his willow to the on-side. The connection was so supreme that the ball sailed over the mid-wicket stand at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The West Indies powerhitter found optimum connection on his bulky willow for a delivery where Woakes missed his yorker. Pooran almost took the ball on the full and gave it the deserved punishment to his favourite mid-wicket region.

The six arrived in the 18th over of the MI Emirates first-innings batting effort with Pooran entering his beast avatar in the end-overs phase and aiming for big hits.

Unfortunately for the Emirates franchise, their attacking left-hander finished with an unsatisfying 37 off 29 balls but Pooran could take solace from the six he managed to dispatch out of the ground against the steady English seamer.

One that raised the eyebrows of those watching as the Caribbean assaulter reinforced his class and belligerence with the bat and played his little part in helping MI post a daunting and eventually match-winning total of 180/7.
