After hammering Afghanistan in the last game in the T20 World Cup 2024, Nicholas Pooran continued to show his class in the ongoing clash Vs the defending champions, England.

After Brandon King was taken off the field due to a groin injury, Pooran walked in at number 3 and continued from where he left against the Afghan side. He played a couple of delightful shots, but the highlight was his monstrous 95m six off Mark Wood's bowling.

Pooran smashes Wood for colossal hit!

Known as one of the cleanest hitters of the cricket ball, Pooran weaved his magic against Wood and tonked him for a massive six. The English bowler bowled a length ball on the middle-stump and Pooran dispatched it for a monstrous six above the deep mid-wicket region. It connected from the sweet spot of the bat and it rattled Wood and the entire England side.

Talking about the contest, England won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision failed to pay off as Brandon King and Johnson Charles took the attack to England, before the former was retired hurt.

At the moment, West Indies are going strong and have only lost a solitary wicket in the form of Charles, who was dismissed by Moeen Ali. The Windies are currently 103/1 inside 13 overs.
