Match 20 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 witnessed Tribago Knight Riders (TKR) steamroll over Barbados Royals (BR) to move second in the points table with four wins, two losses, and one no-result. 

Batting first TKR stockpiled 208 runs in their quota of 20 overs, courtesy of Nicholas Pooran's outstanding knock. The former West Indies captain singlehandedly destroyed the Royals attack, scoring a 53-ball 102, with a cameo from Andre Russell, who scored 39. 

This was Pooran's second CPL ton.

Pooran has been in stellar form ever since the Indian Premier League (IPL) scoring runs at will, first in the inaugural Major League Cricket (MLC) for champions MI New York and then starring for Winides in T20Is against India.

The Lucknow Super Giants player slammed five fours and 10 towering sixes, which include two back-to-back sixes and a four to reach his 100-run milestone. Pooran's celebration was wild as well, much like his whirlwind knock.

In reply, Royals managed 166 runs, with Kyle Mayers top scoring with 70, as Akeal Hosein and Waqar Salamkheli claimed two wickets apiece.

The 27-year-old batter wicketkeeper batter is the second-highest run-getter in CPL 2023 with 188, only behind Martin Guptill (193). Pooran also finished the leading run-getter in MLC 2023 with 388 with one hundred and two fifties. 

The Kieron Pollard-led Knight Riders will meet Jamaica Tallawahs on Saturday at Brian Lara Academy in Trinidad.
