‘We Are Always Ready’ - Babar Azam's Strong Warning to India Before Super 4 Clash

Pakistan kicked off their Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a resounding 238-run victory against Nepal in Multan. Their next group match against arch-rivals India was abandoned due to rain, denying them the chance to chase down the 267-run target set by India in the first innings.

They kept the winning streak going, taking down Bangladesh by seven wickets during the Super Four match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. It was an all-around performance, with Imam-ul-Haq stealing the show with his batting, and the trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf continued their bowling dominance.

During the post-match press conference following the thumping win against Bangladesh, Pakistan's skipper Babar Azam expressed that they are feeling no pressure leading up to the mega clash with India in the Super Four, and they are committed to giving their all in the upcoming match.

'We will give our 100 percent in next match'- Babar Azam

"No, not really (talking about pressure ahead of the India game). This win will give us confidence; we are always ready for a big match. We will give our 100 per cent in the next match."

Taking a lesson from their previous match against India, Pakistan decided to bolster their pace attack by bringing in Faheem Ashraf against Bangladesh, as their spinners couldn't capitalize on the brilliant performance of their pace trio, which saw India struggling at 66 for 3.

Speaking on their bowling performance, Azam conceded:

"Yeah, the credit goes to all the boys, especially to the fast bowlers, the way they bowled in the first 10 overs, and especially Rauf was really good. Faheem Ashraf bowled very well, I saw the grass on the pitch and thought of going with the extra seamer."

Team India did not experience the kind of start they had hoped for against Pakistan in the previous group match. Their top order once again faltered against Pakistan's pace bowlers. It was only due to the outstanding 138-run partnership between Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan that India avoided struggling to reach a three-digit run score.

Meanwhile, the Men in Blue are gearing up for another face-off against Pakistan in the Super Four clash, scheduled for September 10 in Colombo. With Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill leading the charge, India aims to come back stronger and give Pakistan's pace attack a run for their money. However, it won't be a walk in the park for India to take on the world's premier pace bowlers once again.
