Naveen-ul-Haq is a globetrotter and his plethora of skills with the ball has made him an asset for various teams around the world. His death-bowling skills have been pretty impressive over the years, and in a high-octane game between Barbados Royals and Trinbago Knight Riders, he once again delivered for his side with a big wicket of Kieron Pollard at a critical juncture.
Trinbago Knight Riders needed 37 off 22 balls and Royals needed Pollard's wicket. The Afghan pacer bowled it on a length and outside off and Pollard tried to slog it towards the leg side. He only managed an inside edge though and the ball shattered the stumps as Pollard looked down in disappointment.The wicket was a big, big one for Royals and the home crowd at Kensington Oval erupted the moment they saw the ball hitting the timber.
Trinbago Knight Riders Inch Past Barbados Royals In A Thriller
The wicket of Pollard brought things a bit more in favour of Royals, but Akeal Hosein came in and smashed some important boundaries to put Knight Riders ahead again. Obed McCoy then got the wicket of Gous in the penultimate over, but it was followed by two boundaries and the equation came down to TKR needing 11 off the final over.
Jason Holder was the bowler who was assigned the tough task, and the big all-rounder almost delivered. The initial two balls produced three runs and it was followed by a wide. The third ball was again just a single and with 6 needed off 3, Jason Holder got the big wicket of Akeal Hosein. Then came the fifth ball of the final over and Terrace Hinds to everyone's surprise smashed the ball into the crowd to take TKR to a thrilling win at the Kensington Oval.
