South African fast bowler Nandre Burger has arrived in Rajasthan to join the Rajasthan Royals camp for the forthcoming IPL 2024 season. 

On March 15, roughly a week before the tournament's launch, the franchise shared a short video of the speedster checking into his team hotel room in Rajasthan.

The rather hilarious footage even featured an intense voiceover from Virat Kohli, back when the Indian batting legend squared off against Burger in January this year at Cape Town.


Nandre Burger ‘haunted’ by Virat Kohli’s sledge?

Nandre Burger made his all-format debut against India back in December 2023. In the second Test of India's two-match series against South Africa at Cape Town, Burger was involved in a fiery duel with modern-day batting legend Virat Kohli.

As the speedster was dishing out verbal volleys and short deliveries, Kohli, at one instance, responded back and was caught in the stump mic saying:

“Tereko 30 runs marunga ek over mai” (I will hit you for 30 runs in an over)

Apparently, Nandre Burger relived Virat Kohli's aggressive sledge while checking into his team hotel room in Rajasthan.

The Rajasthan Royals franchise took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a hilariously edited video welcoming the 28-year-old fast bowler to town for the much-awaited IPL.

The Rajasthan Royals franchise acquired Nandre Burger during the IPL 2024 auction back in December 2023. The upcoming season is set to mark Burger's maiden IPL venture.

As per the partial IPL 2024 schedule released by the BCCI, the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals will face the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their opening match on March 24.
