The opening day of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium took an intense turn as Rishabh Pant and Litton Das found themselves at the center of a heated exchange. Known for his aggressive style, both in batting and demeanor, Pant's animated interactions on the field have often been a topic of discussion. This time, however, it wasn’t his stroke play but a verbal spat that caught everyone's attention.

The incident occurred during the 16th over of India's innings when the team was reeling from an early collapse, having lost three quick wickets. Rishabh Pant, determined to steady the innings, was seen in a verbal altercation with Bangladeshi wicket-keeper Litton Das. The argument reportedly began when Pant took a single off an overthrow after the ball hit his body, prompting a sharp response from Das.

The tension escalated as Pant responded with a fiery retort: “Usko feko na bhai, mujhe kyu mar rhe ho,” loosely translating to, “Throw it to him, why are you hitting me?” This moment, captured on camera, quickly went viral, highlighting the high stakes and emotions on the field.

Bangladesh, having won the toss, opted to bowl first—a decision that paid off immediately. Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma struggled against the fiery spell of Hasan Mahmud. Sharma was the first to fall, scoring just 6 runs. Shubman Gill, expected to stabilize the innings, departed soon after for a duck, also succumbing to Mahmud’s relentless pace. The star pacer then dismissed Virat Kohli, who managed just 6 runs before becoming Mahmud’s third victim of the day.

At 86 for 3 in 22 overs, India’s innings hung in the balance with Pant and Jaiswal at the crease, trying to rebuild.
