You could sense something incredible happening on the cricket field whenever MS Dhoni is in the middle. And it happened yet again on Sunday just before the CSK versus KKR clash in IPL 2024 match came to an end.

Chasing a below-par target of 138, Dhoni came ahead of Ravindra Jadeja to finish things off against KKR, mentored by Gautam Gambhir. The 42-year-old had an opportunity to take his side past the finishing line. However, he did not do that, considering the fact there was Ruturaj Gaikwad, the current CSK skipper, was batting thoroughly from another end.

While needing just two runs with more than 15 balls remaining, Dhoni took a single to give the strike back to Gaikwad, who was batting on 63* off 57 balls. And Gaikwad hit the winning runs, making some room against Anukul Roy before cut through the off-side for four runs.

The incident reminded everyone of what Dhoni did for Kohli during the 2014 T20 World Cup semi-final.

Despite the defeat, KKR are still placed second on the points table, while CSK are fourth, with three wins and two defeats. The Yellow Army will next play Mumbai Indians on April 14 in Match 29 of the ongoing edition.
