Mitchell goes hard vs Narine (X.com)
Daryl Mitchell went berserk against Kolkata Knight Riders after coming to chase a below-par target of 138 in Match 22 of IPL 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium. The veteran New Zealand all-rounder, on his way to a stellar knock, went hard against Sunil Narine, and two of his shots grabbed a lot of limelight.
Just after the Powerplay, Narine, who smashed 27 off 20 balls earlier, came to bowl for KKR. Mitchell came down the track, and played a lofted drive over long-on with strong hands, as the ball sailed over the boundary ropes for half a dozen.
Then, on the next ball, Mitchell brought out the reverse sweep, and the timing was so perfect that the ball raced towards the ropes for another four runs.

Interestingly, Narine got Mitchell's wicket a few overs later, as the Kiwi fell for 25 off 19 balls, getting cleaned up by the mystery spinner.
CSK, at the time of writing this, are 97/2 after 12.4 overs, with Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the middle, on 52* and 1* respecitvley. They only need 40 runs to win off the last 43 balls, which should be an easy chase for MS Dhoni-starred side.
