Riding on exceptional knocks from David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Steven Smith, Australia set the foundation for a mammoth total in the third ODI in Rajkot. However, experienced seamer Mohammed Siraj brought a sigh of relief to the Indian camp, dismissing Smith with a dream delivery in the 32nd over.

After opting to bat on a flat Rajkot deck, Australia got off to a flier, thanks to a blistering opening stand between David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. After Warner departed for a breezy 56, Steve Smith steadied the visitors' ship alongside Marsh, stitching a crucial stand of 137 runs for the second wicket.

However, Siraj struck at a crucial juncture, providing India with the prized scalp of Smith soon after Kuldeep Yadav got rid of Marsh.

It was a good length delivery from Siraj, which kept a tad low to beat Smith on his defence, trapping him plumb in front of the stumps in this process. Before getting out, the veteran batter smashed 74 runs off just 61 deliveries with the help of eight fours and a six.

After Smith's departure, Alex Carey joined hands with Marnus Labuschagne to ensure a fitting finish for the touring party. As of writing, Australia are 244 for three in 33.1 overs, with Labuschagne and Carey batting on 15* and 1*, respectively.
