Steve Smith got back to his very best on Wednesday (September 27) in Australia’s third and final ODI against India, taking place at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. The ace batsman brought up his 30th ODI half-century, and in the process, also crossed the 5000-run mark in the 50-over format.

Smith, at the time of writing, is batting on 61* off 50 balls, with six fours and one six. In particular, the six that he smacked against Ravindra Jadeja was delightful to watch.

It was a shortish delivery by Jadeja, and Smith saw it coming. The Aussie batsman rocked back and smacked a classy six over deep mid-wicket.

Having lost the series 0-2 already, Australia are on a roll against India, reaching 222/2 in just 29 overs. Mitchell Marsh went berserk, smashing a fluent 84-ball 96, which included 13 fours and three sixes.

Against Marsh and others, India's potent bowling attack, consisting of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Kuldeep Yadav seemed clueless.

It is important to note that this will be the final game for both the cricketing supergiant before the focus shifts to ODI World Cup, set to get underway on October 5.
