It all happened in the second over of the match when Siraj, on his very first ball, bowled with precision. He came over the wicket, delivered a full-length delivery right on the stumps, and made it shape back in after pitching. Karunaratne, looking to flick the ball, missed it, only to be struck on the front pad.

The appeal was loud and confident, and the umpire's finger went up. Sri Lanka's top-order was in disarray as both of their openers, Pathum Nissanka and Karunaratne, found themselves back in the pavilion without scoring a single run.

At the time of writing, India had posted a competitive total of 357 runs in their allotted 50 overs. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka was facing a daunting task as they were struggling at 2 for 3 after just three overs.
