Madushanka, with his crafty bowling, had already scalped the prized wickets of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and SuryaKumar Yadav before setting his sights on Shreyas Iyer. Iyer was on the cusp of a century, standing tall at 82 runs off just 56 balls, when Madushanka executed a masterful off-cutter that left the batsman flummoxed.

Iyer's attempt to clear the boundary resulted in a sky-high shot that was safely pouched by Theekshana stationed at covers. It was a pivotal moment in the game, as the home crowd watched their hero depart, visibly disappointed yet acknowledging his incredible innings.

This wicket marked Madushanka's fifth victim, completing a well-earned five-wicket haul. As of the time of writing, India had amassed 351 runs for the loss of six wickets in 49 overs.
