Team Australia faces a challenging moment as all-rounder Mitchell Marsh departed for Perth due to personal reasons ahead of a crucial World Cup 2023 match against England in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Marcus Stoinis revealed Mitchell Marsh's parting promise

Amidst this adversity, teammate Marcus Stoinis has shared a heartening revelation about Marsh's commitment to the team's success. Despite his absence, Marsh's determination to return and lead the squad to World Cup victory remains undiminished, as indicated in a message he left behind.

Stoinis recounted that Marsh, before his departure, expressed the intent to rejoin the team and secure the World Cup. According to Stoinis, Marsh's departure is not only a strategic loss but also an emotional one, given his positive influence and vivacious personality within the team dynamic.

"He sent me a message last night saying. I'll be home for a little bit and then I'm coming back to win this World Cup so that speaks of his mindset I think. You miss him off the field-in terms of his energy and his personality around the team as much as we're going to miss him on the field - but you can pretty much see how the team's going to line up (without him),” said Stoinis as quoted by cricket.com.au.

Stoinis further stated that Marsh is attending to a family matter. He mentioned that the 32-year-old is making the correct decision by going home to be with his loved ones during this time.

Stoinis acknowledged that there is no set schedule for Marsh's return, yet he expressed confidence that Marsh would fulfil his familial duties before rejoining the team.

"He's got a family issue going on and like we all know, family is very important, the most important (thing) really. He's doing the right thing and he's getting home and he's seeing the people he needs to see. I don't think there's a timeline on when he's coming back, but I'm sure he'll do what he needs to do at home and then get back.," added the 34-year-old.

This disclosure comes when Australia is already struggling with the loss of Glenn Maxwell to injury, putting the team in a difficult position. Stoinis, battling his own fitness concerns, is set to return to the lineup and is ready to shoulder more of the team's burden in light of his teammates' absence.
