Riding on bowlers' commendable performance, India got off to a sensational start in their ongoing World Cup clash against New Zealand in Dharamsala. After Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj kept it tight, preventing the Kiwis from getting a solid start.

While Siraj got rid of Devon Conway, first-change bowler Mohammed Shami castled Will Young to put India in the driving seat.

However, India also had a golden opportunity to get rid of the in-form Rachin Ravindra; however, veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja let his team down, dropping a straightforward catch at the backward point.

The incident occurred in the eleventh over when India continued Shami at one end to break the third wicket stand between Daryl Mitchell and Ravindra. The ace pacer also induced a false shot of the latter's bat only to see Jadeja put it down at the backward point.

Had he held on to the chance, New Zealand could've left tottering in this high-voltage face-off. This was also a huge surprise for the Indian fans, as Jadeja is often hailed for his incredible fielding skills.

As of writing, the Kiwis are 56 for two in 14 overs, with Mitchell and Ravindra batting on 14* and 21*, respectively.
