Riding on batters' astounding success, South Africa have set the foundation for a massive total in their ongoing World Cup clash against England. After Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen slammed scintillating knocks, ace finisher Heinrich Klaasen led the charge for South Africa, compiling a blistering half-century.

Meanwhile, besides South Africa's fireworks with the bat, an incident that grabbed fans' attention was a wayward throw from David Willey that nearly hurt the on-field umpire.

The incident occurred in the 41st over when English captain Jos Buttler turned up to his trump card Adil Rashid into the attack to break the stand between Klaasen and Marco Jansen.

After conceding three singles, Rashid bowled a good length delivery around the off stump, which Klaasen worked away in the on side for a quick single.

However, David Willey, stationed at the mid wicket, grabbed the ball and threw it waywardly, resulting in an extra run. He nearly hit the on-field umpire in this process, with Harry Brook hurting himself while stopping the ball near the boundary.

Klaasen's exceptional knock has powered South Africa to 311 for five as of writing. The Proteas are set for a fitting finish, with Klaasen and Marco Jansen batting on 82* and 22*, respectively.
