The Asia Cup 2023 opener at the Multan Cricket Stadium witnessed a moment of sheer brilliance courtesy of Mohammad Rizwan's exceptional catch behind the stumps as Pakistan continued to maintain their dominance over Nepal in the game.

Mohammad Rizwan's catch to dismiss Sompal Kami left everyone in awe

Chasing a huge target of 342, Nepal's hopes were pinned on their top scorer, Sompal Kami. However, in the 17th over, Haris Rauf, with a sublime display of seam bowling bowled a delivery that slightly moved away from the batsman.

Kami, attempting to defend, edged the ball. In a flash, Rizwan displayed incredible reflex and launched himself to his right plucking the ball out of thin air and sending Kami back to the pavillion after a well-made 28 off 46 balls with four boundaries.

Coming to the game, the early part of Nepal’s innings was rocked by Pakistan's pace arsenal. Shaheen Afridi made quick work of opener Kushal Bhurtel and captain Rohit Paudel, both failing to open their account. Naseem Shah, not to be outdone, dismissed Aasif Sheikh for just 5 in the following over.

While a brief 59-run partnership between Aarif Sheikh and Kami offered Nepal some solace, Pakistan's tight bowling and sharp fielding highlighted by Rizwan’s catch kept the pressure mounted.

With Nepal reeling at 82/5 after 17 overs and a mountainous 261 runs needed from the remaining 33 overs, the side will have to dig deep to get anywhere close to the target against the robust Pakistan bowling attack.
